losers

i know this is the meanest thing to do, and i did it with such glee. this is a family who was routing for france during the final match in the world cup, and this is them when italy kicked the winning goal. i've never felt so happy to see a little boy so sad. you can see how sad he is, and how his mom is trying to make it look like she's not that disappointed. if you look at all 11 pics really fast, it's like a little movie.

the girl on the left is obviously for italy.

photos!

yuka and her nice boyfriend at their opening at atlas cafe a few weeks ago. they are so cute! they both wore mickey mouse shirts without even planning it. plus their work is sweeeet.

miss euna and her terrible face accident, bike+pothole. she broke a bone in her cheek, and was all swelled up on one side. it was so sad, and i'm happy to say she's much better now (though still can't eat crunchy things).

someone getting arrested.

someone taking a nap.

the paper bags are from a stenciling workshop i did a year ago with galeria de la raza. they had a program called youth in public media going on over the last few years, and they just had a "best of" end exhibit, and i got to see the bags again!! my friend vero and i led a group of teenagers and we put stencils on paper sacks from rainbow grocery, and then returned them to the grocery store for customers to use. it was a great project.

a pigeon, sunbathing it's head half.

soup

just look at this bowl of soup, it's even more gigantic than it appears, and taka ate it all.

and here's an argoyle fish we saw later on...

heck

last night taka and i went to one of those irish type themed bars that you never really want to go to. there was this guy there who after i told him i was from lincoln nebraska, said, "oh the lincoln cattle wars!" and i'm like, huh? and he goes to tell me about how there were the lincoln cattle wars in the 1860's and that's how billy the kid got famous. so i'm like, really? and asking him about it cuz i've never heard about this famous thing in my hometown that has a plaque to celebrate a wagon wheel that fell off once. shit, if billy the kid had a friend in nebraska, we'd have a plaque to celebrate that too. but he probably didn't, and so i'm seriously doubting that there was anything like the lincoln cattle wars in nebraska or else i would already know about it. but nooo, he says he's 100% sure about it, and i'm thinking he's a big history buff. so today i do a little internet research and lo and behold, i'm right. there's no lincoln nebraska cattle wars, it's lincoln county new mexico cattle wars. and he's no history buff, he probably watched young guns.
fool!

a quickie.

i can't believe that they kicked MALAN off of project runway tonight! i am so sad, i don't know how i can have any faith in the judges this season, starting off with this! he was going to be one of the reason's i anticipated this show! like, he's as flavorful as santino, but like shepherd's pie instead of santino rice... ok.
we went to a mediocre art show a few weeks back, the best part was a video where only one person could listen in at a time. molly.

at the arrow, taka dancing with balloons. so indie. so wasted. not even joking about it.

we went on a wine trip, it was great. but you know how when you go on a big group trip, and there are two cars. the corolla with a drunk policeman who loves house music, and convertible with the babes, the snacks and the map. guess which car taka and i were in.

man, looking for a job S-U-C-K-S. everyone thinks you have all this great free time, where you can work on your photos and email your grandma and do yoga in the park, but it's not. it's tiring and lame and i personally spend all free time hating on people and wondering how they got their jobs.

what a wonderful weekend

this sunday ellie, molly and i decided to get out to some nature. you know, real viceral dirty nature. and guess what! we found some nature right outside our front door! a dead bird someone put in our trash! the view under the lid is excruciatingly vomity.

but we really did go out to nature, packing picnic lunches and going to mt. tam.
and if you look around your environment with an eagle eye...

and guess what!! they're all friends!

BIRDS!!

but hey, it's not all fun and games in nature, you can get what they call riptide.

looks hellish, i know....

i remember when i was little and it was so great to lay in the grass and look for 4 leaf clover and feel so lucky. one summer, when it reached fever pitch between all the man neighbors and their lawns, and my dad was putting on record amounts of fertilizer on our lawn. you wouldn't believe how many four leaf clovers we found in the grass, and then five leaf clovers and up. when we repeatedly brought in 4 and 5 leaf clovers to our dad, he finally let off the fertilizer.
remember laying face first in the grass expecting to find a miracle.

in case you were wondering how ellie's sunburn was, this is sunday...

ellie and heath have the coolest shit ever in their house. i am eternally jealous.

my mom!

this is a self-portrait that my mom took when she was my age.

maybe when i'm a mom someday, my kids will appreciate all the self-indulgent photos i take of myself all the time as much as i appreciate the photos my mom unearths every so often.

rrrrandom

ted and euna become 300 more times obnoxious, euna looks like a cat when you catch it licking the butter dish and are about to squirt it with water.

BOLTON'S BACK! props to his street crew!

ellie's sunburn. bubbly, and the same color as her shirt

nips

we went to a show at the independant the other night, to see dave navarro's nipple rings!!! i have created a collage of some different views of the rings, check out the shadow.

taka was yelling that dave sucked the whole time, only one step classier than me posting these pics. here's taka and jeremy most likely talking about vintage marshall cabs. or their band.

after the show, we went to club wazima(?) and closed the bar.
molly and taka and the 23rd shots of the evening, only minutes before we crashed the car:(

night owls

this is from the photos i took for matt and justin, for their night courier service they're starting up. we went around downtown and took "action shots" for their website. who knew, but i am no match for young men who ride bikes 24 hours a day, i still feel dizzy from trying to keep up with them on their bikes.

times, they are a changin'

we have a secret attic room in our house, tactfully dubbed the "anne frank room". it's strictly storage space, not party space, and so we put all sorts of crap up there and forget about it. today i found a handle of vodka hidden behind some stuff from one of our parties a long time ago. the reason i'm rooting around up there is because i'm moving rooms! finally! after 2 1/2 years, i'm finally moving to a room with windows... you don't know how sweet that is. and i'm bringing down all my clothes i packed up when i left for my trip, and i discover bags upon bags of clothes and shoes that i forgot about. shit. and i know it's now or never, i gotta sort it all out. so bags upon bags of clothes and shoes come sailing down, and i make molly help me make the hard decisions. you know, you get all attached to some shirt you've never worn that your mom gave you because she said it made you look pretty, and every time you go through your clothes, you see it and go, "it's practically new, and mom gave it to me that one summer." and you keep it. well this time, baby, no mercy! i put all the clothes in a big bag and am going to take it to the goodwill. check out the bag.

now, you'd think that there would HAVE to be something worthwhile in that big pile of clothes, but it's all things like these sunglasses, that i bought when i was exiting my punk stage, and entering into my short-but-sweet-j-lo stage, and was blundering through the fashion world trying to figure out what to wear that don't involve a butt flap. i ordered the sunglasses from a magazine.

or, you could find this little gem, something you buy when you imagine your life as a busy little student, drinking tea and diligently doing homework on the couch in the chilly san francisco winters.

i know i know, you're asking yourself, "how could anyone want to give that piece of snuggly to the goodwill? that thing's AWESOME!" well, i was stumped by the same question when i found it at the goodwill, and now i know it's because it smells like b.o.
go back and look again at the last photo and check out my sweet new adidas to the left of the clothes bag. dear lord, what am i doing? go to bed.

erase errata!

more bottom of the hill fun! more hot babes!
ellie had some fans, with special shirts just for her.

ellie got to sign nora's shirt, lucky lady.

so did bianca!

and jenny!

now that shirt is a collector's item i bet.

molly!

my little sister molly is staying the summer here in sf with me, taka and i took her out to point lobos on monday. here's her and taka in the tunnel.

yes, i have 2 little sisters who look nothing like myself.

one-self!

at bottom of the hill last saturday, they stayed at our house and so we made them put everyone on their guest list. after the show, i found the list, and it had like 18 people on it. oops.
but they were awesome!!! the lady, her name is like mine but with a "y". word. we danced all night and are now fans. you should be too.
